Dear Parents / Carers,
We would like to offer Year 3 a three day educational residential trip to the award winning Kingswood Adventure Centre as part of their ‘Snow and Survival’ topic on the 24-26th February 2016.
Our planned adventure teaches young people a wide range of bush craft skills such as learning to construct a shelter, safely lighting a campfire using natural materials and using campfire gadgets to cook a variety of meals outdoors, all within a controlled and secure setting.
We believe this trip will:
- Develop self-confidence using the great outdoors. •Support personal development, life skills and personal growth.
- Develop an understanding of our relationship with the natural environment and the role it plays. •Help young people work creatively to solve a series of challenging problems. •Teach practical bush craft, survival and teamwork skills.
The trip would cost £72 per child and this includes transport, two nights’ accommodation, all food and a complete programme of activities. There will be an opportunity for you to pay in instalments.
We would like to invite you to a meeting on Thursday 5th November at 3.15 to discuss the trip further. To secure your child’s place on this exciting trip, we will need a deposit of £20 by the 14th December 2015. In the meantime if you wish to find out more about Kingswood, please visit www.kingswood.co.uk, in particular the “Parents section”.
Should you wish to ask any questions please feel free to contact me. We hope everyone is able to come and enjoy this exciting experience!
Thank you for your support
