Appointment of a new Headteacher for September 2016

As you will be aware, Jim Dugmore will be leaving Porter Croft in August 2016 and so this term the Governors have been seeking to recruit a new Headteacher.

Although we will all be sad to see Jim leave, I am excited about the future of the Academy and its potential to go from strength to strength. With this in mind, we undertook the recruitment process determined to find an exceptional Headteacher for our school.

In response to our advertisement we received several applications and following a thorough and challenging interview process this week, I am pleased to announce that we have made an appointment. The decision was unanimous with all governors in agreement and the Diocese and Local Authority also fully backing our decision.

I am delighted to announce that we have appointed Cath Thomas to the post of Headteacher of Porter Croft from September 2016.

Along with the rest of the governors, I sincerely believe that Cath will be an excellent successor to Jim and we are very excited to move into a bright future under her leadership. Although, like all schools, we have a few challenges ahead, we also believe there are some great opportunities for our school and look forward to working with Cath to further develop education at Porter Croft.

We will now begin the process to recruit a new Deputy Headteacher and will write to you again to let you know the outcome.
